Romanian president, Traian Basescu, after an especially long waiting time, has finally gave his agreement, by he 6th November, to the nomination of Zákonyi Botond for Hungarian ambassador in Romania.
Zákonyi Botond, who replaces Oszkár Füzes, is a 43-year-old historian, researcher of the nationality and neighborhood politics, former director at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs. Earlier, employed by the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, he was responsible for South-Eastern Europe, especially Romania. In 2009-2010, he was the first head of representative office of the Hungarian national minority in Brussels - after Transylvania Chronicles- the daily paper of Cluj.source: MTI, Hungarian news agency
